{"id":741,"date":"2008-12-26T00:58:33","date_gmt":"2008-12-26T04:58:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thisfoodthing.wordpress.com\/?p=741"},"modified":"2008-12-26T00:58:33","modified_gmt":"2008-12-26T04:58:33","slug":"long-island-iced-tea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thisfoodthing.com\/index.php\/2008\/12\/26\/long-island-iced-tea\/","title":{"rendered":"Long Island Iced Tea"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_747\" style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/thisfoodthing.files.wordpress.com\/2008\/12\/litea.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-747\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-747\" title=\"litea\" src=\"http:\/\/thisfoodthing.files.wordpress.com\/2008\/12\/litea.jpg?w=200\" alt=\"Long Island Iced Tea\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-747\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Long Island Iced Tea<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Long Island Ice Tea &#8211; created in the 1970&#8217;s on Long Island, New York doesn&#8217;t actually contain tea, but is supposed to taste similar.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a hugely popular drink, served almost everywhere.\u00a0 I&#8217;m sharing this recipe as Sander is going to be making these at his New Years Party this year, and needed to know exactly what was needed.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve included a recipe for Sweet &amp; Sour Mix, with some variations as well.<\/p>\n<h2>Long Island Iced Tea<\/h2>\n<p>1 part vodka<br \/>\n1 part\u00a0 Tequila<br \/>\n1 part rum<br \/>\n1 part gin<br \/>\n1 part triple sec (or an orange flavored liquor)<br \/>\n1 1\/2 parts sweet and sour mix (see recipe below)<br \/>\n1 splash Coke or Pepsi<\/p>\n<p>Mix ingredients together over ice in a glass. Pour into a shaker and give one brisk shake.
