I serve this with Chicken Piccata always &#8211; it has enough body to hold up to the bold flavors of the lemon sauce, but a light enough flavor that it won\u2019t over-power the chicken. It can be served on it\u2019s own, or with any type of meat \u2014 steak, roast, chicken, pork, fish.<\/p>\n<p>This recipe is nice in summer, when you can pick the basil from the garden, or get it fresh from the market.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thisfoodthing.files.wordpress.com\/2007\/08\/basil.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-right:0;border-top:0;border-left:0;border-bottom:0;\" src=\"http:\/\/thisfoodthing.files.wordpress.com\/2007\/08\/basil-thumb.jpg\" alt=\"basil\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Roasted Garlic and Basil Pasta Sauce<\/h5>\n<p>1 roasted garlic bulb<br \/>\n1 minced clove garlic (raw)<br \/>\n1\/3 cup butter, cut into small pieces to soften<br \/>\n1\/3 cup olive oil<br \/>\n1 handfull basil, chopped or as a chiffonade<br \/>\nSalt and Pepper to taste (kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper)<br \/>\n1 pound linguini, cooked al-dente<br \/>\n1\/4 cup shredded cheese \u2014 parmesean, romano, asagio<\/p>\n<p>Add roasted garlic paste, raw garlic, butter (softened), oil, salt and pepper to pasta bowl and mash together lightly \u2014 enough to mix the garlic and butter into everything.<\/p>\n<p>Add basil and mix lightly again, reserving a small bit of basil for garnish.<\/p>\n<p>Pour hot cooked pasta over sauce and toss to coat.
