{"id":82,"date":"2007-09-03T18:04:14","date_gmt":"2007-09-03T22:04:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thisfoodthing.wordpress.com\/2007\/09\/03\/shrimp-with-snap-peas-water-chestnuts\/"},"modified":"2007-09-03T18:04:14","modified_gmt":"2007-09-03T22:04:14","slug":"shrimp-with-snap-peas-water-chestnuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/thisfoodthing.com\/index.php\/2007\/09\/03\/shrimp-with-snap-peas-water-chestnuts\/","title":{"rendered":"Shrimp With Snap Peas &amp; Water Chestnuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I like to stir fry &#8212; it&#8217;s so quick and easy, and with just using one pan, cleanup is simple, too.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The trick to making any type of food that can be cooked in a wok is to have every thing prepped. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare the meat, whatever kind you are using, into bite sized pieces  <\/li>\n<li>Have your vegetables cleaned and ready to put into the wok.&nbsp; Try not to put &#8216;wet&#8217; vegetables into the wok, as this will cause them to steam, instead of fry.&nbsp;  <\/li>\n<li>Use a&nbsp;plate or small dishes for other items such as garlic, ginger, spring onions, etc.&nbsp; Then you can just toss them in when needed.&nbsp;  <\/li>\n<li>Have any sauces you will use at the ready.. not in the refrigerator.&nbsp; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Shrimp With&nbsp;Snap Peas &amp; Water Chestnuts<\/h2>\n<p>1 pound shrimp, peeled and cleaned<br \/>Sesame Oil<br \/>1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced<br \/>1 clove garlic, minced<br \/>1\/2 pound snap peas, ends snipped<br \/>1\/2 cup sliced water chestnuts, fresh if you can get them<br \/>1 tablespoon soy sauce<\/p>\n<p>My version of this is very simple:<\/p>\n<p>Peel and clean the shrimp.&nbsp; Heat your wok or pan over highest heat possible.&nbsp; Add the sesame oil and allow to heat until \/almost\/ smoking.&nbsp; At once, toss in peas and shrimp.&nbsp; Stir fry until the shrimp are about half&nbsp;done.
